Product Description

Qualities:

Mandarina Balm, an aromatic plant of the mint family, is sweetly scented orange tempered by a citronella-like aroma. The flavour is mild and sweet, full of orange notes, with a hint of honey. Mandarina Balm makes a good beverage infusion; add fresh Mandarina Balm to sparkling water, tea, or cocktails. Mandarina Balm also provides a citrusy note to salads, fish, and poultry.

Best For: Crafting gourmet teas, citrusy salads, and fragrant garnishes.

Care And Harvesting Tips:

Cut and come again! Mandarina Balm is a rapid growing plant and can quickly become overgrown if not harvested frequently. Regular harvesting helps to control the size of the plant, encourage the production of new leaves, and prevent the plant from becoming too woody and dry.

Start by identifying the new growth on the plant. These are the most flavorful and fragrant leaves. Snip off the new growth, leaving about 5 cm of stem and repeat this process every 3-5 weeks.

Mandarina Balm plants may develop long roots, lift the net pods up to check the roots every 3 weeks and trim extending roots, leaving just one pinky finger long of roots extended from the base of the net pod.
