Rosemary is an aromatic herb with a strong, woody, and slightly sweet flavour. Also grown as an ornamental plant due to its distinct, pine-like aroma, which can freshen up a room.
Rosemary is typically used for seasoning meat, poultry, fish, and baked vegetables. Fresh or dried Rosemary can also be used to make herbal tea or flavour a pour-over coffee.
Cut and come again! Rosemary can be harvested several times.
Harvesting can take place when the plant reaches 20 cm tall by snipping off the sprigs (soft white stem) and avoiding cutting the woody parts of the plant. It’s important to not harvest more than one-third of the leaves at a time, in order to allow the plant to continue growing and producing leaves.
Note that, Rosemary is a slow-grower, harvesting too much or too often, will take a long time for the plant to recover.
